About this listing
1968 - 1970 Fender Competition Candy Apple Red Mustang BassWeighing in at 8Lbs this bass is comfortable and inviting to pickup. These basses have become very collectible recently and this is the red version of the most desirable model "Competition Stripe with Matching Headstock & Lollipop Tuners"This bass is 100% Original. It's a "one owner guitar" and the son of the original owner sold me this bass belonged to his dad who has now passed This bass has never been repaired, modified, or disassembled according to the son of the original owner, as he grew up around this bass and knows the history of it. I'm not able to tell you the specific year this bass is because the condition of this bass shows that it's never had the neck taken off. The specs of this bass place it as a 1968 to early 1970 at the latest because it has the desirable lollipop tuners and you see those change to the clover tuners in 1970 Condition -Some natural age paint flaking on the face of the headstockFrets are in almost unplayed condition and the bass shows very little play wear. This bass comes with an early 70s fender short scale bass case, but it is not the original case to this bass. According to the son of the original owner he sold the original case with a mustang guitar he sold out of his dad's collection previously that needed a case. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. This is a collector grade bass.
