About this listing
You are checking out a rather rare 2004 Fender American Series HS Telecaster in a slightly metallic Pewter finish. This Tele has the Atomic II Humbucker, which has a woody, airy tone without the darkness you often get with neck humbuckers. It’s more akin to a wide range humbucker. The bridge pickup is the stock Fender American Tele bridge pickup from this era. All parts are stock. If you want to hear this guitar in action, listen to the solo-ish melodic playing in the latter half of the song “Lamplight” by the English band The Clientele from 2003 album The Violet Hour. Alistair MacLean used a black one of these guitars on that record. It’s my favorite clean Fender tone of all time, and this neck pickup can do that sound (though he’s got a very loud clean Fender amp and who knows what mics and compressors and preamps and stuff going, too). This particular Tele is now 21 years old (see Fender’s serial number lookup page for all the details: Z2228844) and has some minor battle scars that I’ve pictures for you. Nothing terrible. Just a few dings, buckle rash, and some nice finish checking on the back of the neck. The frets are round, as you can see in the pics. If you’d like more pics of the dings or checking, I can take more.If you have questions, I’m happy to answer.I bought it without the original chainsaw case, but I do have a brand new Fender gig bag I bought off Amazon to protect it on your drive home.Local buyers: I accept cash, Venmo, or Zelle for local deals. I do not accept Reverb payments. You save on taxes that way, which is how it should be considering I’m a private seller, not a business owner.
