A great instrument for bluegrass and folk music, and adequate for classical and jazz as well. Clear tone can cut through a band whether you're playing rhythm (chop) or lead. A nice, warm tremolo sound as well. I recommend it!

I'm so glad that I went with the Eastman 315. All the mando gurus said this was the way to go and they were right. Woody, chop, beautiful finish, loud projection. I love playing this mandolin.

Great tone & action. Best sound for the money. Good craftmanship. Beautiful finish. Love playing this mando and am VERY pleased. Gig bag is ok. It protects the mando well, which is what counts, but it would be nice to have a couple of smaller pockets for picks etc. larger single outside pocket loses picks (minor issue)

Very nice instrument- especially for the money. Sounds excellent- especially for the money. Limited appointments but looks great anyway...especially for the money. Notice the theme here. Bottom line, for the money, this is really a fine instrument. I don't believe there is another that can compete with this one in this range.
