About this listing
This Guitarlin Longhorn Danelectro in Blackburst was reissued in 1999. It features a Masonite Hollow-body, a Maple neck with a Rosewood fingerboard and a whopping 31 frets! (Hence, the G-Mandolin) I bought this guitar used from the first owner and he had bought it in 1999 when it was released. The neck has a slimmer profile and wide nut width with a flat radius, very fast neck. Great for leads and quick, nimble players! The controls offer a stacked pot for each pickup with independent tone and volume control - large sweep on both tone knob but cant be a bit tough to adjust on the fly (i.e. may end up accidentally adjusting volume/tone on accident when trying to adjust one or the other... not too big of a problem when I've played it live but still worth mentioning)Doesn't come with the original "Amp in a Bag" that was in the case... But gig bag is included; nice and padded case that fits guitar well, very snug and protective. Only blemish is the nick on top side of the guitar's front (as pictured) - other than that in great shape. The metal nut and lipstick single coils, make this guitars' timbre quite bright and great for jangly/glassy clean tones. Very good at cutting through a live bands' mix with a pushed tube amp and handles chord clarity great. Though, when not compensated for, its inherently bright tone can sometimes be a bit overbearing... I love the sonic placement this guitar offers a collection, when played with clean/crunch lead tones and chorus effects. Offers very sparkly single coil tones.
