Video: JPTR FX Silbermaschine Fuzz Pedal Demo

Modeled after classic fuzzboxes of the 1960s like the JMI Tone Bender and the Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, the new Silbermaschine from German boutique builder JPTR FX is a howling fuzz pedal built for "unrefined and unbuffered vintage fuzz conquest."

Like the company's Fernweh Multi-Echo Andy demoed last month, the Silver Machine is a high-quality, hand-built pedal. It features two gain stages running in a parallel circuit. The Silver Machine's plain silver chassis has a simple knob layout, reflective of its circuit—two gain knobs that act as filters for tweakable fuzz flavor and one master volume knob.

Though it looks simple, the Silbermaschine is a very effective and versatile fuzzbox, capable of a wide range of sounds from thick sludge to cranked, upper-octave, Woodstock-esque fuzz.
