Watch: New Trailer for "The Pedal Movie," Reverb’s First Documentary Feature Film

Earlier this year, we announced our first ever documentary film project: An exploration of the history and culture of effects pedals, dubbed “The Pedal Movie.” Built around interviews conducted with nearly a hundred different pedal makers, players, and other experts, “The Pedal Movie” seeks to show how these strange little boxes have changed the course of music and how the industry producing them has grown from just a few brands 30 years ago to thousands of different makers today.

This week, we’re pleased to show you the new trailer for the film, which is being launched in conjunction with a couple of fantastic limited edition pedal collaborations from four of the builders featured in the movie. You can read more about those collabs here.

Watch the trailer above for just a short glimpse of the people and stories included in the film. You can also check out our earlier trailer from February at this link, and see a few other early glimpses of “The Pedal Movie” footage via this feature on the history of Mu-Tron, this interview with Nels Cline, and this discussion of the meaning of “boutique.”

Be sure to follow @thepedalmovie on Instagram and Twitter for all the latest on this project which is set for release on streaming platforms early next year.
