Walrus Audio has partnered with Yvette Young on a brand-new multi-effect pedal, the Qi Etherealizer. A luscious blend of chorus, delay, granular effects, and reverb, it is every bit as ethereal as its name suggests—an idea tool for an experimental player like Young.
"I hope that it will inspire people to be excited to have colors and textures to play with," Young said of the new pedal. "I think this is going to be a wonderful tool for people to create ambient sounds and add interest to their playing! ...I want people to think about their melodies and how they can start to sound a little less guitar-y and more...magical!”
We got Joe Shadid in the Reverb studio to get some hands-on time with the new pedal and explore all of its musical possibilities. Check out the video above to watch Joe explore the layers and sections of this pedal, both with a guitar running through it as well as a synthesizer.
The new Qi Etherealizer follows hot on the heels of another new Walrus Audio pedal that was put up for preorder this week—the Canvas Rehearsal. The Canvas Rehearsal, as its name suggests, is designed to be your all-in-one rehearsal tool. Players can listen to your instrument through headphones, play along with tracks via Bluetooth or the 1/8-inch aux input, and it even features a built-in metronome.
Both the Walrus Audio Qi Etherealizer and Canvas Rehearsal are available for preorder right now on Reverb. Click the buttons above to grab your own.
