The secret is out—American-made Fenders can be had for just $1,000 (or even less).
At a time when a new American-made Fender guitars can cost folks upwards of $1,800, we wanted to take a second to revisit the Fender American Standard Series.
Though this production line was shuttered in 2016, these were the cream of the crop American-made flagship Fender models for the previous 30 years, starting in the late '80s. And that means 30 years of these beautifully crafted guitars can be found all over the used market.
These classic Fender models give players all of the care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that they'd be looking for in a new U.S.-made Fender, but at a fraction of the price of a current-production brand-new model.
In the video above, Joe Shadid has a few American Standard models in the studio that he demos to show off just how good those savings can sound. He also goes through some of the differences between these models and Fender's current production equivalents, so stay tuned to the end.
