For fans of the Roland Jupiter 8, JX-3P and Juno 106 — some of the most acclaimed synthesizers in the business — the Roland Boutique Series was made just for you. Capturing the essence of these classic synths, the JP-08, JX-03 and JU-06 nail the sound without driving a nail into your bank account. Check out these demo videos to hear them in action.
The compact Roland JP-08 is modeled after the Jupiter 8, a long-time favorite of artists ranging from Stevie Wonder to Yes to Prince to the Cars and back. Four voices with two analog-modeled VCOs power the JP-08, and a resonant low-pass filter and continuously variable high-pass filter are just the beginning. A flexible LFO, dual envelope generators and a wide array of modulation options give the JP-08 the power to create any synth sound you can imagine, whether old or new.
Modeled after the Juno 106, the JU-06 pulls from the design of its predecessor, using four voices based on the 106’s single DCO-with-suboscillator setup. Like the JP-08, the JU-06 features a resonant low-pass filter with a continuously variable high-pass filter. An assignable envelope generator, slider-controlled LFO, and even a 16-step sequencer complete the JU-06, giving it the distinctive bass and warm leads that made the Juno 106 famous and earned it so many fans both contemporary and old-school, like Passion Pit, The Cure, Duran Duran, Tame Impala and Animal Collective.
Though the Roland JX-3P was a bit of a hidden treasure, it still picked up a following of devoted users like Stevie Nicks, Gorillaz and the Dream Academy, and these devotees won the JX-3P a reincarnation in the Boutique Series: the JX-03. Getting classic analog-style sounds can’t get any easier with the JX-03’s dual digitally-controlled oscillators, assignable envelope generators and LFO, resonant low-pass filter and hyper-flexible cross modulation. With the JX-03, you’ve got what it takes to craft any synth sound right at your fingertips.
