Video: Keeley Electronics Caverns Delay & Reverb V2 Demo

While reverb-delay combo pedals are nothing new (in fact, the long discontinued Boss RV-3 continues to sell well on the used market), there's definitely been an expansion of the format over the past couple years. These pedals, which offer dual circuits for both reverb and delay, are an excellent way to save precious pedalboard real estate and often come with tools to combine the effects that you wouldn't get otherwise.

The Keeley Caverns is one such combo pedal and this week the prolific pedal firm launched an updated version of this versatile tone box.

As you can hear in the video above, the Caverns is primed to cover a wide range of spacey effects with three reverb modes including Blackface-style Spring mode, a chorus-y Modulation mode, and a cascading Shimmer mode that emphasizes those sleek high-end trails. The delay circuit is based on Keeley's Magnetic Echo pedal with a relatively standard delay control set.

All in all, for the amount of tone-shaping and time-bending tools you get in one box, the V2 Keeley Cavern is a bargain for any guitarist looking to add a whopping array of swirling sounds to their rig.
