Taking the MIM Player Series as its foundation, Fender has unveiled a brand-new line: Player Plus.
In our video above, we wanted to put them to the test in a modern production. So Joe Shadid sampled the lineup, including the Player Plus Stratocaster in Tequila Sunrise, Stratocaster HSS in Belair Blue, the Nashville Telecaster in Aged Candle Apple Red, and the Precision Bass in Cosmic Jade.
Then, Fess Grandiose flipped, pitched, and built up the samples to create an original beat. With some extra basslines and licks laid on top, well… listen above and hear the results for yourself.
The Player Plus series is bringing a little something extra to one of Fender's affordable lines. Taking cues from higher-end models, the Player Plus series marries advanced features like Noiseless pickups, push-pull pickup options, and high-performance bridges with stunning finishes.
All of them will also feel a little different than a standard Fender, because the fretboards have a 12" radius—flatter than most Fenders and equal to Gibson's standard boards. The effect will mean your fast runs and large bends will be easier to nail.
Features throughout the line include:
- Alder bodies
- Gloss polyester finishes
- Modern "C" maple necks
- Maple or pau ferro fingerboards
- 22 medium jumbo frets (20 on the Jazz and P-Basses)
- Synthetic bone nuts
- Player Plus Noiseless pickups
- Push-pull pots for extra tonal options
