Andy Martin is in the Reverb studio today checking out the newest from Keeley. This is the Octa-Psi, a "transfiguring octave fuzz" that promises to be the ultimate combination of pitch-shifting, octave-generating, and analog fuzz capabilities.
As Andy explains in the video, the Octa-Psi combines a multi-stage Muff-style fuzz with a digital precision shifter that can hit tons of different intervals and octaves above and below the input signal.
All of the main controls you're looking for are on offer here—output level, fuzz, and tone (a classic blend of hi- and low-pass filtering)—as well as a three-way toggle switch that lets users switch the main voicing from scooped to bass boost and further.
The left side, you'll find an independent, eight-mode polyphonic pitch-shifter with a switch for selecting up, down, or both pitch-shifted signals. You can use these voices on their own completely isolated or blend them in with your dry signal.
There is so much more functionality built into this new Keeley unit, so be sure to check out the full demo above to see Andy Martin dig into what it can do. The standard Keeley Octa Psi is available now on Reverb. But a special few fans can also grab a Robert Keeley-signed variant of the pedal, limited to just 50 units and available only in Keeley's Official Reverb Shop.
