Teenage Engineering’s beloved portable, calculator-sized Pocket Operator synth line is back with two new additions for hobbyists and video game lovers alike.
The accessible synth line has joined forces with the iconic video game developer Capcom to release the PO-128 Mega Man (available in December) and PO-133 Street Fighter (available now). Each mini-synth is packed with sounds from their corresponding game, allowing users to play along and create the soundtrack of their dreams.
The PO-128, based off of the existing PO-28, features an 8-bit synth engine, punch-in effects, parameter locking, and a glide control for classic lead lines. The PO-128 comes loaded with 16 Mega Man soundtracks, helping fans create new “sizzling circuit” sequences. Other features, according to Teenage Engineering, include:
- 15 sounds + micro drum
- 3-track sequencer
- 128 pattern chaining
- Step multiplier
The PO-133 builds off of the PO-33 micro sampler with 40 second memory. Not only does the PO-133 feature samples and animation of the original Street Fighter game, but it also includes a built-in microphone for crafting on-the-go. Other features, according to Teenage Engineering, include:
- 8 melodic sample slots
- 8 drum slots
- 15 punch-in effects
- Step multiplier
