Maroon 5 to Sell Over 100 Guitars, Mics, and Other Gear on Reverb This Week

We at Reverb are excited to announce that Maroon 5 will be selling more than 100 pieces of gear through Techno Empire's Reverb shop this Thursday, August 30. The sale will include microphones, guitars, drum machines, and more instruments used on stage in the recording studios throughout the band's long career.

As one of the most successful bands of the 21st century, Maroon 5 has accumulated a lot of great gear since members Adam Levine, guitarist Jesse Carmichael, bassist Mickey Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick first started playing music together in the mid-'90s as Kara's Flowers.

Second guitarist James Valentine and a new moniker would follow soon enough, before 2002's Songs About Jane and its singles, "Harder to Breathe," "This Love," and "She Will Be Loved," brought the group to worldwide fame. Since then, they've had 20 Top 40 hits, releasing their most recent studio album, Red Pill Blues, in 2017.

Some of the instruments that will be for sale Thursday include a Shure handheld mic used by Levine during the tour behind their second album It Won't Be Soon Before Long, a 2003 Fender '72 Reissue Telecaster Thinline, a late-'90s Guild Bluesbird, a 2005 Fender Custom Shop Yuriy Shishkov Telecaster (No. 43 of 50 made), and several Floyd Rose guitars used by Levine and Valentine.

In addition, the shop will include an Akai MPC4000 drum machine used while the band was holed up at Rick Rubin's The Mansion recording studio, an Open Labs Miko keyboard that Carmichael told us could very well still be loaded with samples used for previous tours, and a Gibson Les Paul Jim Beam guitar that the band destroyed on stage.

"Either Adam or James decided to send that guitar up into the air at the end of one of the songs and when it hit the ground we hit the downbeat of the end of the song. I'm not sure if it recovered into a playable state, but it's a cool-looking guitar," Carmichael says.

The Maroon 5 gear will be available through Techno Empire's Reverb Shop on Thursday, August 30. Be sure to drop your email in the sign-up box above to be the first to know when the shop goes live.
