Ryan Adams Posts Up-Close Video of To-Be-Released Signature Stratocaster

Ryan Adams first hinted at an upcoming Fender signature model in October, when he posted an Instagram photo of a 1980s-inspired Stratocaster with a black finish and pickguard and stark white binding. At the time, he wrote: "Prototype #1 Ryan Adams @fender signature Stratocaster Wow... Is this real life omg."

Today, that question seems all but answered. Ryan posted a new video on his Instagram account, showing off what he calls the "production model" of the guitar.

The short, close-up video reveals that the black finish contains iridescent sparkles and shows the enormous "Strat" headstock detail in full. It also gives a clearer view of the unique binding. Pinstripe lines surround most of the body and pickguard, but do not continue through the guitar’s upper cutaway.

In just a few days, Summer NAMM will take place in Nashville, so it seems likely that we’ll get full details of the guitar on Thursday. Be sure to check back for more details soon.
