We're always stoked to present new installments in our Potent Pairings series and today's episode — which focuses on the sounds of St. Vincent — has been a long time coming.

We've had the opportunity to catch up with guitarist Annie Clark at the past couple of NAMM shows, where we've covered everything from her evolution as a recording artist to new finishes her Ernie Ball signature model. Earlier this summer, Annie released a new single and announced a run of tour dates, leading many to predict that a new album will be dropping sometime this year. With all the St. Vincent news, the time seemed right to look back at her catalog and give it the Potent Pairings treatment.

In the video above, Joe takes us through how to replicate some of the chirpy layered guitars and bass lines from a few of St. Vincent's hits, like "Cruel" and "Birth in Reverse." Click on any of the pedal graphics below to be taken to live listings, and be sure to peruse our library of other Potent Pairings videos here.

Also, for more details on the Ernie Ball St. Vincent signature model, scope out the video on this page.
