In this installment, Mark Holcomb of pioneering prog metal band Periphery teaches us the main riffs for “The Way The News Goes…” off of their latest album, Periphery III: Select Difficulty.
Although the song pulls together jumpy arpeggiations with a drop C tuning, it’s really just based on a chord progression that Holcomb fleshed out with a host of open strings to give the song more movement.
