First Listen: Source Audio Ventris at NAMM 2017

For their big reveal of NAMM 2017, the pedal wizards at Source Audio capitalized on their trademark ability to combine a wide swath of sounds and powerful functionality with the new Ventris Reverb.

Built around a dual-processor design, the Ventris allows players to either kick on one reverb on its own or double up in series for a whole world of new sounds. Want to know what combining vocal and tremolo reverb sounds like? Now you can.

The Ventris comes with 12 total reverbs ranging from familiar faces like plate and spring all the way to mysteries like E-Dome and Metal Box. Along with controls like time, mix, and pre-delay, the Ventris also sports two color knobs to accentuate each reverb’s particular quality and four presets for pinning down your favorite.

While this is a lot to pack in one pedal, the Ventris is surprisingly easy to navigate. Very similar in layout to last year’s immensely popular Nemesis Delay, this new reverb lets you pick out your mode through the big knob in the center and start sculpting your tone in seconds.

Keep your eyes peeled for pre-orders of the Ventris right here on Reverb.
