Find of the Week: 1984 Rickenbacker 250 El Dorado

This week's stellar find is one guitar that doesn't crop up all too often: a Rickenbacker 250 El Dorado. This particular specimen comes from 1984, the first production year of this solidbody model, and features a sharp Jetglo finish.

The 250 El Dorado is a no-nonsense model with striking looks. The body is bound on both sides with white binding and the hardware is a shiny gold. There's a bolt-on neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and the bridge is fully adjustable.

The blacked-out pickups visually melt right into the body, and have a strong output with a single-coil-style tone. The control layout is uncomplicated, with a toggle switch and four control pots for pickups and volume.

According to the listing, this guitar looks to be in excellent condition, hasn't suffered any major cracks or breaks, and hasn't gone through any repairs. The listing does note some cosmetic wear—a few nicks and dings on the top edge of the headstock—but what's pictured appears quite minor. It will also ship with the original hardshell case. See the listing here for further details.
