EVH Releases New Striped Series Frankie, Several New Finishes for Popular Guitar Lines | NAMM 2020

Like Jackson, Charvel, and Grestch, EVH also falls under the Fender distribution umbrella and now, too, have finally released some information on what we can expect from them in 2020. The coolest new offering from EVH this year is a brand-new meticulous replication of the famous Frankestein guitar, called the Striped Series Frankie.

Its basswood body features a relic'd variant of the signature red-, black-, and white-striped finish, married to an oil-finished bolt-on maple neck with a 12- to 16-inch compound radius fingerboard featuring 22 jumbo frets.

Pickup-wise, the Frankie is outfitted with an EVH Wolfgang humbucker in the bridge and a dummy Strat pickup in the neck, with the sole volume control reading "tone" like the original Frankenstein. And, of course, for quick, drop-D tuning on the fly, the Frankie also features an EVH Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo.

Some of the other new additions to EVH's product lines this year will be a variety of never-before-seen finishes for a lot of the brand's most popular guitar lines. The Wolfgang Special series of guitars with the ebony fingerboards will get three brand-new finishes: Burgundy Mist Metallic, Deep Purple Metallic, or Ice Blue Metallic with matching headstocks.

Other Wolfgang models getting new finishes included the Wolfgang WG Standard Exotic (now available in Spalted Maple) and the Wolfgang WG Standard QM (now available in Black Fade, Chlorine Burst, Northern Lights, Tahiti Nights, or Transparent Amp with a black headstock and black chrome hardware).

Otherwise, fans can still expect to see favorite amp models like the 5150III 50S 6L6 Head and matching 5150III 50S 2x12 Cabinet. For more news from the NAMM floor, click the banner below to follow along.
