For aggressive, high-gain distortion, lots of folks have basked in EarthQuaker Devices' White Light. But the company ended the original production run back in 2015, making new versions impossible to find for years.
As of today, the White Light is reissued—for a limited time, in limited quantities.
Like the old White Light, the new reissue is similar to '80s dirt boxes like the DOD 250 and MXR Distortion+, but with EQD's own twist. A highly responsive pedal, the White Light shines in the high-gain settings it's designed for, but also when dialed back.
The Weight control lets you adjust saturation and low-end, the Compression switch lets you choose between less or more bite, and the Gain can be set for a gentle glow to or an explosive flare or anything in between.
What's new about the reissue is that the same circuitry is now built in EQD's standard-size enclosure, with top-mounted jacks and Flexi-Switch technology.
