Dave Smith and Tatsuya Takahashi of Korg Interview Each Other About Synth Design

Dave Smith and Tatsuya Takahashi are two modern icons of the synth world. Dave Smith not only invented MIDI, but was responsible for some of the most popular synths of the '80s including the Prophet 5. Tatsuya has only been in the business for six years but has already made a name for himself creating super-approachable instruments with Korg like the smash hit Minilogue.

This year at NAMM, we were thrilled to bring these two engineers together for a conversation about their work, the design process, and the synth landscape.
