Crosby, Stills and Nash Are Done

According to Graham Nash, Crosby, Stills and Nash are kaput. Nash has stated that the band will never perform together again nor produce another record, putting an end to one of music’s most popular supergroups.

Speaking to Dutch magazine Lust For Life, Nash openly acknowledged the disintegration of his relationship with David Crosby.

It’s just that simple. In my world there will never, ever be a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young record"

“David has ripped the heart out of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young,” Nash said, as quoted in that magazine. Nash went on to confirm the breakup with Billboard.

“Right now, I don’t want anything to do with Crosby at all,” Nash said. “It’s just that simple. In my world there will never, ever be a Crosby, Stills Nash and Young record and there will never be another Crosby, Stills and Nash record or show.”

In the interview with Lust For Life, Nash further unburdened himself. “I don’t like David Crosby right now,” Nash said in the magazine. “He’s been awful for me the last two years, just fucking awful. I’ve been there and saved his fucking ass for 45 years, and he treated me like shit. You can’t do that to me. You can do it for a day or so, until I think you’re going to come around.”

Apparently, Crosby didn’t come around. Nash continues, “How can I not be sad? Look at the music we probably lost. How can I not be sad about that? The truth is, after being totally immersed in me and David and Stephen and Neil’s music, I’m done. I’ve had 10 years of it. Leave me the fuck alone. I need to concentrate on me now.”

How can I not be sad? Look at the music we probably lost. How can I not be sad about that?"

Nash isn’t the first person to have public issues with Crosby, however. Neil Young expressed similar sentiments in a 2014 interview with Howard Stern, as reported by Consequence of Sound, stating that though his relationship with Crosby may have been fixable at one point, it wasn’t anymore.

“Playing with [Stephen] Stills and Nash was really great,” Young said to Stern. “I wish [Crosby] the best with his life. There’s love there, there’s just nothing else there.”

Many believe the feud between Crosby and Young began when Crosby called Daryl Hannah, Young's girlfriend, a “purely poisonous predator.” Although Crosby apologized, stating that his comment was out of line, the damage was done. In Young’s interview with Stern, he said that a CSNY reunion would “never happen… not in a million years.”
