Japanese pedal juggernaut Boss has announced an entirely new pedal format: the 200 Series. This new line of effects pedal will launch with four different models, each of which boasts extensive customizability and control, with modern features like MIDI integration, sophisticated preset options, 32-bit AD/DA and internal processing, and 96 kHz sampling rates.
The line sits nicely between the smaller, classic Boss compact pedal format (which dates back to the late '70s) and the larger-format 500 series, which includes such popular models as the DD-500 Digital Delay. The new 200 series pedals follow much of what made the 500 pedals a success, but in a smaller, streamlined package.
Out the gate, the line will include the DD-200 Digital Delay, EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer, MD-200 Modulation, and OD-200 Hybrid Drive. Each model will carry a price tag of $249.99/£219/€249, and are expected to ship to retailers in September.
