Video: MXR Unveils the Green Day "Dookie Drive" Pedal

Next month marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Green Day's massively influential punk album, Dookie.

In an Instagram post last week, Billie Joe Armstrong teased what appeared to be a Dookie-themed MXR overdrive pedal. His caption read: "Anyone Going to NAMM?"

Well, yes. So today at NAMM, we were able to get the full scoop from MXR. As you can hear in the video above, the MXR Dookie Drive is a dirt pedal built to mimic and blend the sounds of Billie's favorite amps—his two modded Marshall Super Leads named Pete and Meat. Just as he blended the signal of both amps while recording Dookie, now you can dial in that same tone by blending between the two halves of the Dookie Drive.

It's shaping up to be a big week for Green Day, who are also getting set to sell more than a hundred pieces of gear from throughout their career in The Official Green Day Reverb Shop, launching February 7.
