It started as a vital color in the company's logo: now, it's taken over the whole drum set.
Taking design cues from the bold Art Deco sensibilities of the 1920s and '30s, the A&F Deco Gold Maple Club Series outfits the company's seven-ply maple/poplar shells with a gilded sheen. The new finish "involves a very specific combination of paints and metallic specs which make it the vibrant and subtle gold sparkle that it is."
The Deco Gold Maple Club drums come with A&F's outside reverse baseball bat edge and the company's nickel over brass or raw brass hardware. Custom orders can now be made through their website with a 12-week lead time.
In addition to the new drum series, A&F is rolling out a new line of nickel-plated hardware and accessories. Offerings range from snare and cymbal stands to drum keys and the company's patented "Kick Bone," which can act as a muffle for you bass drum, controllable on the fly from your drum throne.
