The Ibanez SRMS805 in Brown Topaz Burst is a five-string multi-scale bass designed for precision, comfort, and tonal versatility. Its solid okoume body is topped with a figured poplar burl, while the five-piece jatoba and walnut neck supports a panga panga fingerboard with 24 medium frets and acrylic offset stadium markers. The multi-scale layout ranges from about 35.5″ on the low string to 34″ on the high string, allowing balanced string tension and ergonomic hand positioning, with a double-cutaway body giving easy access to the upper frets. Hardware includes an MR5S bridge and black tuners, providing stable tuning and reliable sustain.
Two Bartolini BH2 passive pickups drive the sound, feeding an Ibanez custom 3-band EQ preamp with a mid-frequency selector and a bypass switch for pure passive operation. The control layout features master volume, pickup balance, and bass, mid, and treble knobs, giving wide tonal flexibility. Power for the active EQ comes from a 9 V battery, and the angled quarter-inch stereo barrel output jack makes connection straightforward for both active and passive tones.
