Now for something completely different!
Ex‑US military gear turned studio secret weapon. This is an all original late 1960’s Viewlex LS‑170B/PFP‑1 speaker cab, complete with University Sound speaker.
It started life as part of a 16 mm film projection system used during the Cold War/Vietnam era. Marked U.S. Property and as you can imagine, its build quality is incredible.
It has a better purpose now, and that’s driving mid range grunt.
When A/B’d with a vintage Celestion G12 of similar age, the Viewlex LS‑170B has more clarity in the mids and tighter lows, probably due to its frequency response (100–7000 Hz). It makes a perfect extension cab for blending and shaping tone on vintage amps, giving your sound a midrange boost that cuts through the mix.
