Deacy Amp Brian May Replica

LOOK AT THE VIDEO BELOW!

After years of research and innumerable attempts with related expenditure of economic and time, I finally got the Holy Grall, which is a Supersonic R.G.D RR214 del 1964 Made in Rhodesia now Zimbabwe! Given the rarity of the aforementioned radio and the prestige that precedes this name "Supersonic P.R.80", linked to the Deacy Amp world and Brian May, I thought it was right and fundamental to deepen this topic, looking for something or some other on the net and through reliable sources very similar type of radio that may have more or less the same build specs and ratings similar electrical components of the 1w push-pull 4 transistor PnP amplifier circuit germanium 9v! Well! The choice fell on a radio model Made in Japan, Lafayette "99-9038" at 4-Transistor push-pull 1 watt audio Amplifier, from 1964, where the key difference was given only and exclusively by the type of the two input/output transformers (pins and type of lamierino ) and from 4 transistors of different manufacture even if PnP! The game is done! Once the Japan circuit arrived, the 4 B275 transistors were replaced with ac125, ac126 and two ac128 of NOS drivers on the transformers, and well, I literally passed out, the sound was there in front of me! So then I had to build a decent cabinet, out of chipboard plywood and then the whole thing veneered with precious and finely shaped mahogany sheet, varnished and finished with nitro paint! And recovered an original white / brown grill cloth from the 60s! The choice of speakers then was equally difficult since, looking for the famous Elac 6rm/202 e Tw4/17 both 15 ohms is no easy feat! The choice fell on a pair of OEM double Wizard Cone 6 ½ 16ohm Woofer and Tweeter 4”, all mounted with a 2.2uf Murdoff Crossover. Conclusions, the sound is very similar to that of the supersonic and achieved the goal! The deacy amp replica must absolutely be powered by a PP9 type battery! Enjoy !!!

Boss type 9v power supply pin input (–central and + external). Integrated Duracel Industrial-pro 9V battery.
