Avalon Avalon / Lowden L32 Legacy Acoustic Guitar

This gorgeous Avalon L32 Legacy Acoustic (now the 02-20) is a fantastic acoustic made by the same Luthiers who built the Lowdens!

Avalon, who are also based in Northern Ireland, will always be related to their close neighbours Lowden as the skilled luthiers who created Avalon originally worked for Lowden. Lowden have certainly now made a name for themselves in their own right and created a unique identity. Many deem the Avalon guitars to be superior to the Lowdens in the same price bracket.

Avalon guitars are instantly recognisable by their use of bridge pins instead of a string-through bridge, creating a bit more what would be best referred to as 'americana tone' without losing the mysterious, deep, Celtic 'piano-like' character.

This beautiful Avalon Legacy L32 acoustic guitar is in great condition and was made in the 1990s. It is now called the 02-20.

There are a few very small pits in the sound board lacquer finish and one tiny crack also to the lacquer finish, but these are hard to see and don't affect the sound.

The top is book matched solid Sitka spruce with an abalone sound hole rosette; the bridge is solid rosewood with a split ox-bone saddle; the back and sides are beautifully figured solid Indian rosewood; the neck is mahogany with an ebony fingerboard and rosewood headstock plate.

The guitar plays like a dream. Huge tone, immaculate intonation and lovely action. And it looks gorgeous!
