Hi,
I'm selling a beautiful Trident Fleximix in amazing condition.
The console has been heavily refurbished and remodded- it almost took me a good year to do so.
Now sadly enough, I have to go back to Europe so this is your chance to get an amazing console at an amazing price.

HYSTORY:

That console was designed for the band "Queen" by John Oram working for Trident at the time so the band Queen could record while on tour.
The idea was to replicate a mini version of the most coveted console ever, the Trident A Range.
The microphone preamplifier topology is the same as the A range, with a scaled down (and some say superior) eq section.
The transformers, one in each channel are Zutt transformers, the exact same as the A range.
The transformers alone would almost get me the price of the console! and they're incredibly hard to find.
One of the special thing about the equalizers is, they're implemented so as you add tracks and eq them, rather than the mix getting smaller, it actually gets bigger, thanks to no phase cancellation.
The Jackson Five used to own one and many famous producers/engineers use it to these day as a secret weapon (in Quebec Daniel Belanger is known to own one).

SONICS:

The sound of that console is incredibly vibey, punchy and open.
I own Neve, Api, Siemens and the Fleximix easily hang in there.
I even wonder if she's not a tad more musical and special since it's not a sound we heard as much.
The eq's are extremely simple but diabollically effective.
The mic pres(each using a Zutt Transformer) have a lot of vibe and mojo but somehow cut thru the mix like nothing else!
The summing is amazing! Massive separation, nicely wide and the most open sound i ever heard.
The way the sounds jump out of the speakers is something else.
Each of the four auxes can be configured pre or post.
12 inputs channels, 12 mic pres, one master and an aux master/osc/talback module.
Each channel as well as master can be pulled out the frame, therefore the console is extremely easy to service.
Comes with manual and schematics.

MODIFICATIONS:

-We took the power supply out of the console and replaced it by a top notch external overpowered 6A Acopian power supply.
Just that alone did affect the sonics tremendously and made the sound stage that much bigger as well as dropping the noise floor.
-Arm rest pulled appart, sanded, varnished and polished by hand for a natural wood finish
-Every single op amp (channels, mic pres, eqs, fader stages, auxes, master) has been replaced by brand new ones.
-Every single electrolytic capacitors has been replaced by panasonic fm series, the best money can buy.
-Every power supply resistors replaced by vishay dale brown resistors for better current flow and improves tremendously lifespan of the console.
-Every resistor checked and replaced if out of specs by vishay dale brown resistors.
-Every mic inputs has been rewire as today standard (1 ground, 2 hot, 3 cold)
-2 channels slighty modified for vocals and as a result are more forward/open sounding.
-Nice way to make the vocals jump out ofthe mix
-Master toplogy improved, with new/differents op amps for bigger sound.
Can be replaced by stock ones for a smaller but a bit more gritty sound since all op amps are on sockets.
-All faders bypassed for a much more open sound.
Can be undone if required by buyer.
-Busses switches rewired so if you hard pan something left/right it doesn't bleed at all in the other channel!
-The whole console's been regrounded with copper wire and a copper buss bar!
Drop the noise floor even more, eleminate buzz and hum, quite a bit more bottom end and 3d.
-mute leds are now blue and light up when it's not muted instead of the other way.
-spare op amps so you good to go for a long long time.

So there it is, for less than a Chinese, no transformers, Toft atb24 mixer you can get the real deal!
When people rack those they go up to 3000 cad for a pair!
