**This policy was published on July 14, 2020. It will take effect on August 4, 2020. Starting August 4, 2020, all transactions will be subject to the selling fee listed in this policy. The previous version of this policy can be viewed here**

1. Selling fees

Who says you can't have a better experience and pay less for it? We have built a marketplace focused on serving musicians and gear lovers, leveraging our extensive knowledge and experience combined with superior technology. We charge a modest selling fee of 5% that helps us invest in Reverb to sustain our community’s continued growth.

a. Fees for Reverb.com

Selling fees for Reverb.com are 5% of the total value of the transaction, including shipping.

  • You pay only when your item sells. Your fee is based on the total selling price, inclusive of all costs except sales tax.
  • For Reverb.com, you pay only 5% of the total price, with a $0.50 minimum and a $500 maximum fee.
  • No listing fees, listing renewal fees, or monthly membership fees.
  • See an example.

The maximum fee discussed above is based on transactions in the United States and USD, but the maximum transaction amount and fee may differ by the country and currency where payouts in multiple currencies are available:

CurrencyMaximum Sale AmountMaximum Fee Charged
USD $10,000 $500usd
CAD $15,000 $675 CAD
EUR €10,000 €500
GBP £10,000 £500

b. Fees Based on Total Price

Fees are based on final sale price of an item as well as shipping fees on an order.

c. Billing of Fees and Statements

At the beginning of the month, each seller is emailed an invoice detailing the amount due. A seller must pay the amount due in full within 15 days of the date of the invoice. If you are a Reverb Payments user your fees will be deducted from your payout(s) rather than billed on the first of the month. If you use Reverb Payments and you receive a statement credit in a particular month, your seller fees may not be deducted and, instead, will be added to a end-of-month statement for which you will be auto-charged.

All sellers listing items in currencies of CAD, GBP and EUR, will also receive their invoices in those same currencies. Additionally, if you use Reverb Payments and list in currencies of CAD, GBP and EUR, your fees will be deducted in those same currencies.

2. Additional and International Fees

There may be additional fees included in the use of the platform depending on the services you use. They may include:

  • Reverb Payment Fees - $0.25 plus 2.7% of the transaction total. For Reverb Preferred Sellers, the fee is $0.25 plus 2.5% of the transaction total. See below for differences in currencies.
  • Reverb Safe Shipping - 1.5% - 3% depending on the value of the item and the final shipping destination.
  • Currency Conversion - If you choose to list your item in a different currency than you receive your Reverb Payments, a 2.5% currency conversion fee will be assessed on the subtotal of your payout, after your regular transaction fees.
  • Cross-Border Fee - 1% of the transaction total if the buyer and seller live in different countries (excluding the EEA).
  • PayPal - When you accept payments via PayPal, a fee may be deducted from the total amount transferred to your PayPal account. For most sellers this fee is $0.30 plus 2.9%.

4. Change In Services

Reverb may, at Reverb's sole discretion, change some or all of Reverb's services at any time. In the event Reverb introduces a new service, the fees for that service are effective at the launch of the service.

5. Additional Information

Unless otherwise stated, all fees are quoted in US Dollars (USD). In certain situations, including but not limited to a void or invalid transaction and returns, Reverb may issue a credit for the applicable fees to a seller's billing statement. You are responsible for paying all fees and shipping fees based on accurate weights and measurements and applicable taxes associated with using Reverb. Reverb allows sellers to indicate applicable tax jurisdictions which will be collected from buyers through Reverb at point of sale. Reverb keeps accepted payment information on file.

6. Reverb Bump

Reverb provides a method of promoting your listing on the platform and it's called Bump. Bump allows you to bid a percentage of your listing price to compete with other sellers for premium placement of your items on the platform. Reverb charges for these services in a manner explained below. By purchasing Reverb Bump, you consent in advance to these charges to the fullest extent permissible by law.

When you purchase Bump, you bid a percentage of the list price to raise the profile of the listing up to owning the “Add to Cart” button at the top of the Comparative Shopping Page. If your listing does not sell, you will not be charged for the Bump. Please note, if your listing does sell, the Bump fee is in addition to the fees charged above. By purchasing Bump, you consent to the deduction of the cost of any Bumps from the payout associated with the bumped item(s).
