Video of actual guitar:

Not a Reissue!! It is an original Baldwin / Burns Bison Model (1967), Solid Body Electric Guitar made in London, England, white lacquer re-finish, African mahogany body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, and original Baldwin case.
This is the guitar you want if you want Strat-like sounds, but don't want an actual run of the mill Strat. Burns guitars were ahead of their time and the Bison is one of the rarest! This guitar has been played a lot through the years, but has been somewhat restored!

This guitar has a nicely original look to it, but has had an eventful life with some restoration along the way. The original Polyester finish on Baldwin guitars often suffered disastrous checking and cracking; this body has been refinished in thinner white lacquer that retains the original look without that problem. This finish shows some dings, dents and scuffing but no major wear. The neck finish is the original Poly with some light wear and checking on the headstock.

The hardware is largely original with some correct repro parts installed. The pickups, wiring, pickguard(s), backplates, strap buttons, vibrato and bridge unit are original; these has been some re-soldering to the wiring. The 3 knobs and oft-missing vibrato arm are correct reproductions and the original Rez-O-Tube unit is working as it should. There have been several sets of tuners over the years but original VanGent machines have been re-installed leaving some errant screw holes still visible. The headstock "Bison Guitar" nameplate is intact, as are the headstock "scrolls".

Besides its visual appeal, the Bison guitar is a great sounding instrument with a very strong "Stratty" character from its three Fender-inspired Rez-O-Matic pickups. Although carrying the same pickup and knob rig as the Marvin, it actually offers a much wider tonal range thanks to the addition of a second selector switch. (I'm not sure what the layout is with the switches, but they make different sounds on most of the positions). There is some fret buzz as you get way up the neck (close to the pickups), but otherwise plays fine (see the video!)

This is a good playing guitar, with a definitively unique look and sound, a good gigging example of this highly eccentric but very cool instrument. Overall Very Good Condition. The Original Baldwin case is included and is in great condition!

Total length is 38 3/4 in. (98.4 cm.), 13 3/4 in. (34.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 1/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.)., 7.42 lbs.
