Built on the foundation of the Martin D-18 Standard, this Martin Custom Shop D-18 Style combines the punch, clarity, and versatility of one of Martin's most revered mahogany dreadnoughts with a collection of thoughtful upgrades selected by the team at Empire Music. This guitar was designed for players who love the sound of a D-18 but prefer the feel of a traditional 1 11/16" nut width. It delivers a comfortable and familiar playing experience while preserving the balance, projection, and responsiveness that have made the D-18 a benchmark for generations. 

Beyond the neck, we've enhanced the guitar's responsiveness with a thin Authentic-thickness top and hand-scalloped Golden Era bracing—features that players have consistently gravitated toward in our Custom Shop designs. Together, these upgrades help the instrument respond more quickly to a lighter touch while producing greater openness, dynamic range, and harmonic complexity. The guitar retains the strong fundamentals, dry character, and articulate voice of a traditional D-18 while offering a livelier, more responsive, and more expressive playing experience. 

Completing the build is a premium 5-ply Geib-style hardshell case, providing superior protection and a classic vintage-inspired presentation worthy of a Custom Shop instrument.
