A legendary Alembic Japan bass, produced for only a short period in the late 1980s!

Alembic is a brand known as the "pioneer of high-end basses," famously favored by Stanley Clarke.

Alembic Japan, on the other hand, was a unique Japanese-made brand established by the then-domestic importer under license, offering original models distinct from the original.

Manufactured for only a short period in the late 1980s, the production number was extremely small, making it very rare to find one on the used market today.

This particular instrument is a fretless AJ-II-JB with JJ-type pickups.

The body top is made of tiger-stripe maple with a distinct grain, the body back is mahogany, and the fingerboard is ebony.

Equipped with Alembic pickups, it boasts a powerful sound.

Controls include front volume, rear volume, and filter control, making it an active bass.

With its compact body and beautiful violin-like design, this is a truly captivating instrument.

A well-defined sound, typical of a J/J pickup configuration. Combined with powerful output, it delivers a warm yet crisp fretless sound thanks to the mahogany body.
The filter control allows for a warmer, more toned sound.
