First off, no, I don't know why some previous owner installed a Mexican neck on an American body... But here's what I can tell you:
We have a 2011 American '57 Reissue body (and, I believe, original plastics, hardware, "V" neck plate, etc.) that has been outfitted with an MIM Classic '50s neck. The neck has a very subtle "V" profile. Perhaps that's the reason it was transferred to this body? (Please see photos for date stamps, stickers, authentication, etc.)
There are Fender Custom Shop pickups in the middle (grey fiber bobbin) and neck (black fiber bobbin) and a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 in the bridge. Needless to say, it sounds killer.
There are a few scuffs, tiny dings, and chips present on the body's edge and near the neck plate/heel (see photos). Overall though, the look and vintage vibe are bright and spot-on. The first few frets show barely noticeable wear (the usual "Cowboy Chord" areas) but it's minor and doesn't affect playability or intonation.
Weight: 7lbs, 11oz.
No case or tremolo arm included.
