I put this bass together using a modified hardtail Strat body and a Bronco neck, also modified.
This has been a working bass, and has a few scuffs, scratches, and small dings, but is in overall excellent condition.
Neck: Maple with maple fretboard, modified the shape where it joins the body, and plugged and re-drilled holes for attachment screws. Replaced the original nut with a black bone one. Fender string tree, Guyker open-frame tuning machines.
Body: 3-piece alder, neck pocket modified to accommodate the bass neck.
High-output dual rail alnico 5 mini humbucker pickups: neck measures 7K resistance on my multimeter, middle measures 10K, bridge measures 13K.
CTS 250K pots
Stratocaster-type output jack
Faux-wood adhesive vinyl on pickguard
Fender high-mass bass bridge
Free-Way 10-Way Blade Pickup Selector Switch 5B5-01, which operates like a 5-Way Strat switch, except that the blade has both an up and a down position, allowing for 10, rather than the normal 5 pickup combinations; they are as follows:
Switch in the Down position, it works like a Strat 5-way switch:
1. Neck
2. Neck and Middle in parallel
3. Middle
4. Middle and Bridge in parallel
5. Bridge
Switch in the Up position:
1. Neck and Middle in series
2. Neck and Bridge in parallel
3. Neck and Bridge in series
4. All three pickups in parallel
5. All three pickups in series
It's a very comfortable bass to play, and looks, plays, feels, and sounds great.
