2005 Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster – Sunburst – Early Production / Nitro Finish / Exceptional Condition
Up for sale is a 2005 Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster, one of the earlier examples of this now highly regarded signature model. Built to EJ’s exacting specs, this Strat blends vintage-correct feel with refined modern playability—and delivers some of the most articulate, dynamic Strat tones Fender has ever put into production.
This one is a standout. Lightweight, resonant, and extremely responsive. The nitrocellulose lacquer has begun to settle in nicely, giving the guitar that broken-in feel without heavy wear.
Key Features:
· Alder body with thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish
· Quartersawn maple neck with soft “V” profile
· 12" fingerboard radius (flatter than vintage, ideal for bends)
· 21 medium jumbo frets
· Custom-voiced Eric Johnson single-coil pickups
· Vintage-style tremolo with silver-painted block (per EJ spec)
· Staggered vintage tuners, no string tree on high strings
· Bone nut
· 5-way selector
Tone & Feel:
This is where the guitar shines. The pickups are clear and bell-like without being thin, with a strong low end and a smooth, singing top. Neck pickup is round and piano-like, positions 2 and 4 have that classic Strat “quack” but with more body, and the bridge is usable and musical—not ice-picky. The flatter radius and slightly beefier neck carve make this an incredibly comfortable Strat for both rhythm and lead work.
Condition:
Very very clean. No major dings or structural issues. Frets are in great shape with plenty of life. Electronics are fully functional. Professionally set up and ready to play.
