This microphone is one of the real true classics when you're thinking of vintage microphones. The 55 series was introduced in 1939 and called "The Fat Boy," and has remained popular for over 80 years! The Shure Company marketed this model to schools, libraries, factories, for public address as well as radio stations.

     This one has been around the block a few times, but generally well-cared for, showing some wild surface age, no broken, bent, or cracked ribs. The entire mic has been thoroughly sanitized, plus new Blue screen cloth installed. It tests well with good tone and volume, which you can hear when you check out the voice sample on the listing video.
