1975 Martin D-28L Left Handed Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w/ OHSC

Today, for your consideration - a left handed 1975 Martin D-28! As far as acoustics go, we all know it doesn’t get more classic than an old Martin dreadnought. This is a terrifically cool example- factory lefty with glorious wood selection and a sound as recognizable as the smell of a freshly baked apple pie. When this guitar came in, it had been converted to a righty (figures they don’t have enough guitars already). The bridge was still left hand compensated but the nut was replaced and dots had been added to the opposite side of the neck. We had it brought back within spec with a new bone nut and saddle, making for a really great playing instrument. There is a ton of saddle remaining and the action is a healthy medium with 12 gauged strings. No neck reset will be needed for a very long time.

When the guitar was righty converted, someone had added a second pickguard that was crudely removed. This resulted in some splintered top wood around the bass side of the rosette which we had professionally filled and sealed. It is somewhat hard to see in the pictures as the luthier who performed the work did an outstanding job matching the wood grain. There is also a sealed top crack (not fully penetrated) and other small marks visible. The guitar has never had a pickup added. A previous strap button install to the neck heel was plugged.

This guitar is an outstanding vintage player. We guarantee whoever the new owner is will love it just as much as we love having it in the shop. The guitar will ship in its original “steal me” blue plastic Martin hardcase.
