Frank Sox (Francis Sox) was a revered, self-taught luthier based in Lexington, South Carolina. Working out of his home, he handcrafted nearly 100 high-quality mandolins using traditional hand tools and exotic woods. Known for his intricate mother-of-pearl inlays and customized tailpieces, his legacy lives on in the regional bluegrass community.

Frank Sox lived from 1933 till 2024 so this Mandolin was built between those dates. This mandolin, is obviously a handcrafted instrument made by a master craftsman, the intricate inlay, hand carved top and bottom all speak of a lot of patience and many years of experience. When you play this instrument is have a clear bright voice and an amazing amount of volume for an instrument of this size. When you play this at the bluegrass festival you will certainly get a little extra attention.
