For sale is a vintage Settimio Soprani Contino Model 132 piano accordion, made in Italy in approximately 1955. This is a professional-level, full-size instrument with excellent tone and classic Italian craftsmanship.
Specifications:
• 41 treble (piano) keys
• 120 bass buttons
• 4-voice treble (LMH)
• 7 treble registers: Bassoon, Bandoneon, Organ, Master, Oboe, Clarinet, Piccolo
• 2 bass registers
• Hand-finished Tipo A Mano reeds (verified by internal inspection)
Condition:
Plays very well with no dead notes or sticking keys. Sounds in tune to the ear. Bellows are tight and hold air properly. Reed wax and valves appear intact. Internals are clean and well preserved. Cosmetically very nice for age with only minor wear. Two white keys sit slightly higher than adjacent keys but function normally (see photos). There is also a slight stress crack in the corner of the trim piece by the keyboard (see photos).
No original case included.
This is a strong, responsive accordion suitable for folk, polka, jazz, traditional, and general performance.
Thanks for your interest.
