Hello, and thanks for checking out my 2011 Ebony Dove. I purchased this guitar new from Rainbow Guitars in Tucson, AZ. At the time, I really wanted an "Elvis Dove," but could not find one anywhere, so I paid Rainbow to swap the pickguard to plain ebony/black and add Grover Keystone tuners for me to create my own version of the "Elvis Dove." In a way, this kind of a weird one-off with these changes. The only thing it's missing over the current Elvis editions is the "Elvis" truss rod cover.

Most people know the history of the Dove, but if not its easy to find online.

Gibson does not make a ton of these in Ebony, so it would be safe to say they are somewhat limited in number. I made some changes, so I know it's not original, which is why I set the price point a little lower. If you want an Elvis Dove but don't want to pay the upcharge, this is your guitar.

There is a tiny ding in the top, shown in pic number 4, which also helps lower the price. Outside of the ding, there are some faint pick marks, and if you have never owned an Ebony Gibson, it is fair to say that you can look at it wrong and cause a swirl mark and fingerprint to pop up.

There are no structural issues with the guitar, and it plays and sounds as expected. How a guitar is set up is a personal preference, so after shipping and spending time in a box in the back of a UPS truck, you should have the guitar set up and adjusted to your liking. I used this as my Drop-D acoustic, so the action may be a little high for you right out of the case.

The Doves are made with a Spruce top, with maple back, sides, and neck. They have a rosewood neck with parallelogram inlays and a rosewood bridge with Dove inlays.

Doves have a 25.5 -ish scale length, and the neck width is 1.72 at the nut. Please note that these guitars did not come from the factory with fret nibs.

This one came from the factory with the LR Bags pickup system.

The attached video is a complete review of a 2011 Ebony Gibson Dove made 15 days after this one. I think every possible question is answered in his video review of the guitar.

The guitar will ship with the Gibson OHSC and the paperwork shown in the pics.

And because people will ask, the guitar weighs very close to 4.5 LBS. (give or take an ounce)

The guitar plays and sounds great, and there are no issues with the neck or the truss rod adjustment.

Please reach out with any questions if you need additional info, and thanks again for checking out my listings.
