Paiste Vault Release 0047: Sound Creation 18" Dark Flatride Flat Ride from 1985 IMMACULATE COLLECTOR GRADE NOS Mint Formula 602 alloy gem!

Many years back, Mother Paiste did a rare release of New Old Stock cymbals from her vault. I bought a small collection of these gems for myself. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. These were basically New Old Stock examples that they were keeping for reference, for endorsers, or whatever. They shipped in numbered plastic bags. Vault Release 0047 is the Paiste Sound Creation 18" Dark Flatride (Flat RIde) shown in the photos. Serial number dates this cymbal to 1985.

Weighs 1670 g on my scale.

Overall condition is between Excellent and Mint.

The edge is butter smooth. Lays flat. Center hole is perfect. No funny business or issues.

Very much like a Formula 602 Flat Ride, but more complex.

To be ultra critical, I did see several tiny oxidation spots on the top and a few fingerprints on the bottom (see last three photos).

While this cymbal was never played (kept in the bag for its life under my care), you can see in certain lighting angles a few barely detectable stick marks from where the sound was examined over the decades.
