About this listing
McCarty 10Top" in NEW color "Aurora Borealis" made in 2025 in beautiful condition! * From the manufacturer's website below Named after Ted McCarty, a great contributor to the musical instrument industry, the McCarty model is a collaboration between Paul and Ted, blending the technology and design of PRS with the essence of classic models from the golden age of electric guitars. The bound 22-fret neck is moderately thick to improve tone and sustain, and the push/pull tone control and 3-way toggle switch allow for a wide range of sound-making possibilities. The model also features a brass-inserted stoptail bridge, non-locking tuners with brass shafts, and McCarty lll pickups, which are inspired by vintage guitars and produce a warm, mellow vintage sound. The McCarty III pickups are newly equipped on this model. The McCarty III pickups are the culmination of all the expertise that Paul Reed Smith and the PRS new product engineering team have accumulated in recent product development, from their long study of vintage pickups to their sound analysis and tuning technology improvements. Paul Reed Smith and the PRS new product engineering team have developed in recent years. In the late 1980s, Paul consulted Ted about guitar design and manufacturing techniques. Since then, Ted has become not only Paul's mentor, but also a valued friend to Paul and all the staff he has met at PRS. The McCarty, released in 1994, is the culmination of Paul's own experience as a guitar builder, in addition to the skills and knowledge he acquired from Ted McCarty.
