Personal Thoughts:
This is a seriously cool Custom Shop Tele and a really unusual take on the late-’60s formula. The big draw is obviously the Green Paisley finish, and it works brilliantly here because it has all the period-correct attitude of the original paisley teles, but with a darker, moodier look that makes it feel a bit more special and less expected than the usual pink route. The clear guard is a great touch too, as it lets the finish do all the talking. I also really like the rest of the spec. The rift sawn maple neck, round-lam maple board, compound radius and medium vintage frets should make it feel vintage-inspired but still very easy to get on with. The Custom Shop ’63 neck pickup paired with the hand-wound ’67 bridge is a smart combination as well, giving it a nice spread of warmth, bite and snap. A very eye-catching and very collectible Custom Shop Tele.
Condition Report:
Mint / as new condition. Overseas import example. NOS finish is factory correct as part of the original Custom Shop spec. Presents exceptionally well overall, with no noteworthy wear to mention.
