I love vintage Japanese guitars, especially the ones with lots of buttons and knobs and flair. This one is pretty unassuming at first glance. I expected it to play more like some of the more common and lower end Teisco guitars of the 60s. But don’t let the looks for you. Every time I pick this thing up, I’m delighted by how cool it sounds and how fun it is to play.
It seems like it was originally released as a Suzuki E-20T but it’s sometimes referred to as a Suzuki Hertiecaster because it was commonly sold in German magazines in the 60s. Check out some of the ads for this in the attached photos.
For age, this thing is in remarkably good shape. The neck is hearty and stable. all the electronics work great.
