About This Listing

EMG-SAV Set 3 Pickups (Black)

In the EMG-SAV, the pole pieces are mounted flush with the top of the pickup allowing you to raise the entire unit to be closer to the strings. And that means louder, more responsive sound with great string balance.

EMG worked with Grammy Award winner Steve Lukather of Toto to produce the EMG-SAV  when Ernie Ball was revising the "Luke" Guitar.  The windings were increased for a meatier tone and EMG hid away the pole pieces for a more uniform look to the instrument. Steve has always played a specially overwound SA Pickup, so EMG used the original preamp from the SA pickup with flat Alnico 5 pole pieces hidden under the cover cap. The SA preamp gives the SAV its classic EMG sound while the flat poles put the pickup closer to the strings for more output and a punchier attack.

Package Includes: EMG's exclusive Quik-Connect cables (3), prewired control set including volume, 2 tone controls, 5-way selection switch (black & white knobs), output jack, and battery clip, screws & springs.
