About This Listing

Hi all. Here is one of my custom built Foxx Tone Machine clones (I'm keeping the burnt orange one, naturally :) ).
For anyone unfamiliar with the circuit, it generates a huge, fat fuzz tone with a slightly gritty attack. Very much like crossing a big muff with a Mk1 tonebender. It also has switchable octave up circuit, which is generally considered one of the best octave circuits around, with clear octave notes available all over the fretboard (not just from fret 12 upwards). Unlike the original, I've made the octave foot switchable, so your leads will scream through the mix on demand.
Also has a really usable tone control too.
Built using fuzzdog PCB's, I've used medium gain metal can 2N2222 transistors and 1N34 germanium diodes for a healthy dose of mojo. Other transistors can be substituted (they are all socketed), But don't expect great changes in tone or character - I've tried other transistors, including PN3565, 2N5088 and other low gain ones as well. Find medium gain the most pleasing personally.
