Crafted in collaboration with Megadeth guitarist Dave Mustaine, this exceedingly rare limited run model is one of just 75 produced in the Red Amber Burst finish, combining elements of two of Gibson’s most enduring designs to create a powerful, shred-ready instrument emblematic of the legend himself. Premium features include a pair of Mustaine’s signature Seymour Duncan pickups, a string-through body with a deeply figured flame maple top, a 25 ½” scale length, Mother of Pearl inlays, gold hardware, and an Explorer-style headstock with Dave Mustaine’s engraved signature and silhouette proudly displayed.

Weighing 7lbs 9oz, tonewoods include a mahogany body paired with a bound flame maple top, and a mahogany neck capped by a 24-fret bound ebony fingerboard. The Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Signature Thrash Factor pickups are potent and powerful, boasting a tone and feel that has been matched to the classic Duncan combination of an SH-4 JB bridge humbucker and an SH-1N ‘59. A pickup pairing immortalized by the searing leads and intricate arrangements of Megadeth’s landmark “Rust In Peace” album, the Thrash Factors have been marginally altered to deliver a tight low end, slightly scooped mids, and aggressive highs that translate to a singing, vocal-like quality when playing single notes and white hot solos.
